口譯則是interpreting或是interpretation，前者指的一定是口譯，後者則有其他的意思，例如: 解釋、詮釋等

電影:《雙面翻譯》（The Interpreter）是一部在2005年上映的美國政治驚悚電影（英語：Political thriller）所謂同步口譯（Simultaneous Interpreting），是指譯員以幾乎與講者同時的方式，做口語翻譯，也就是在講者仍在說話時，同步口譯員便「同時」進行翻譯。
口譯員的養成不易，除了幾近雙母語的有效溝通之外，還要「上通天文、下知地理」，因為你永遠不知道在下一場會議中，你會需要什麼樣的知識。
Interpreters play a pivotal role at MEUS. As an Interpreter, you will have the chance to interpret speeches, debates, press conferences and meetings from English into your mother tongue and vice versa. You will also be providing relay interpreting for other booths, thus ensuring smooth communication among participants.

考試語種
考試分7個語種，分別是英、日、法、阿拉伯、俄、德、西班牙等語種；四個等級，即：資深翻譯；一級口譯、筆譯翻譯；二級口譯、筆譯翻譯；三級口譯、筆譯翻譯；兩大類別，即：筆譯、口譯，口譯又分交替傳譯和同步口譯兩個專業類別。
